Lise son sınıf öğrencilerinin akademik başarılarının yordayıcısı olarak sınav kaygısı, boyun eğici davranışlar ve sosyal destek


SOCIAL SUPPORT, SUBMISS‹VE ACTS, AND TEST ANXIETY AS PREDICTORS OF ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AMONG HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

ÖZET
Bu çal›flmada s›nav kayg›s›, boyun e¤ici davran›fl (itaat), aile, arkadafl ve ö¤retmenden alg›lanan sosyal destek de¤iflkenlerinin lise son s›n›f ö¤rencilerinin akademik baflar›- lar›n› ne derecede yordad›¤› incelenmifltir. Araflt›rmaya lise son s›n›fta okuyan 385 (% 58.1) k›z 278 ( % 41.9) erkek olmak üzere toplam 663 ö¤renci kat›lm›flt›r. Ö¤rencilerin Matematik, Fizik, Kimya, Biyoloji, Türkçe, Tarih, Co¤rafya derslerinden ald›klar› 2002-2003 ö¤retim y›l› y›l sonu karne not ortalamalar›, akademik baflar›lar›n›n ölçütü olarak al›nm›flt›r. Veri toplama araçlar› olarak S›nav Kayg›s› Envanteri (SKE), Boyun E¤ici Davran›fllar Ölçe¤i (BEDÖ) Alg›lanan Sosyal Destek Ölçe¤i (ASDÖ) ile araflt›rmac›lar taraf›ndan gelifltirilmifl olan Ö¤renci Kiflisel Bilgi Formu kullan›lm›flt›r. Veriler Regresyon tekni¤i ile analiz edilmifltir. Araflt›rman›n bulgular›na göre, aile deste¤i, boyun e¤ici davran›fllar, ö¤retmen deste¤i ve s›nav kayg›s› de¤iflkenleri akademik baflar›y› manidar olarak yordamakta, arkadafl deste¤i ise yordamamaktad›r. Bulgular literatür ›fl›¤›nda tart›fl›lm›fl ve önerilerde bulunulmufltur


ABSTRACT
In the present study, the prediction capacity of submissive, test anxiety, family support, peer support, and teacher support on academic acheivement of high school students were examined. The sample of the study included totally 663 (385 female, 278 male). The mean of grades of Mathemathics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Turkish Language, History and Geography was considered as the criterion of academic acheivement. Test Anxiety Inventory – Turkish Form (TAI), The Turkish Form of Submissive Acts Scale (SAS) and Perceived Social Support Scale (PSSS) were administred in other to gather the datain this study. The data were analyzed by Regression technique. Major findings of the study were, family support, submissive acts, teacher support, and test anxiety predicted academic acheivement of high school students significantly. Peer support did not predict academic acheivement significantly. The findings were discussed in the light of related literature, and suggestion were made.
