ÖZET
Okula ve derslere ilgi ö¤rencilerin baflar›s›n› ve bilgi kazan›m›n› etkileyen en önemli faktörlerdendir. Bununla birlikte ö¤-
rencilerde ileriye yönelik sürekli ilgilerin oluflturulmas› biyoloji e¤itiminin hedefleri aras›nda yer al›r. Bu çal›flman›n amac›, orta ö¤-
retim ö¤rencilerinin biyoloji dersine ve biyoloji konular›na ilgilerinin cinsiyete ve s›n›f seviyesine göre nas›l de¤iflti¤inin incelenmesidir.
Çal›flma betimsel bir alan araflt›rmas›d›r. Araflt›rman›n örneklemini Ankara’n›n farkl› sosyo-ekonomik bölgelerinden seçilmifl
orta ö¤retim kurumlar›ndaki ö¤renciler oluflturmaktad›r. Cinsiyetler aras›ndaki fark›n anlaml› olup olmad›¤› t-testi; s›n›flar aras›ndaki
fark›n anlaml› olup olmad›¤› ise tek yönlü varyans analizi ile belirlenmifltir. Araflt›rman›n sonuçlar›na göre k›z ö¤rencilerin en fazla
ilgi duyduklar› konular evrim, insan biyolojisi, canl›larda davran›fl ve üreme iken, erkek ö¤renciler en fazla üreme ve evrim konular›na
ilgi duymaktad›rlar. Cinsiyete göre anlaml› fark›n bulundu¤u konular üreme, insan biyolojisi, evrim ve canl›larda davran›flt›r.
S›n›flara göre anlaml› fark›n bulundu¤u konular ise sistemler ve büyüme ve geliflmedir. Biyoloji erkek ö¤rencilerin ilgi duyduklar›
dersler aras›nda 5. s›rada yer al›rken, k›z ö¤rencilerde 7. s›rada yer almaktad›r.
ABSTRACT
Interest for school and lessons is one of the most important factors affecting the success and knowledge acquisition
of students. Furthermore, maintaining a sustainable interest in students for new things is also among the aims of biology education.
The aim of this study is to examine how the interest of high school students for biology lesson and biology subjects differ with
regard to gender and grade. The study is a descriptive field research. High school students from different sociocultural neighbourhoods
of Ankara are the subjects of the research. The significance of difference among genders is measured by T-test and significance
of differences among grades is measured by unidirectional variance analysis. The results of the research show that the subjects that
male students are most interested in are reproduction and evolution while female students are most interested in evolution, human biology,
behaviour in living creatures and reproduction. The subjects in which there are meaningful differences between sexes are reproduction,
human biology, evolution and behaviour in living creatures. Systems, growth and development are among subjects in
which there are significant differences between grades. Biology is the fifth most interesting lesson for male students while it is the
seventh for female students.
