COMPARISON OF THE CURRICULA OF BIOLOGY TECHER TRAINING PROGRAMS

ÖZET
Ögretmenler egitim-ögretim etkinliklerinin en önemli ögelerinden birisidir. İyi egitim almıs bir ögretmen gerek kendi dalında, gerekse genel kültür ve ögretmenlik bilgisi yönlerinden iyi yetismis demektir. Günümüzde biyoloji ögretmeni 11 Üniversitenin Egitim Fakültesi’nde yetistirilmektedir. Aynı amaca yönelik olarak biyoloji ögretmeni yetistiren bu kurumların ögretim programlarının belli bir standart ve birlik içerisinde olması gerektigi, bu standart ve birligin aynı zamanda Avrupa Birligi Egitim sistemine entegre olma sürecinde de önemli oldugu düsünülmektedir. Bu nedenlerle bu çalısmada Türkiye’de biyoloji ögretmeni yetistiren kurumların ögretim programları karsılastırılarak aralarındaki benzerlik ve farklılıkların belirlenmesi ve elde edilen sonuçların ögretim programlarının gelistirilmesine katkı saglaması amaçlanmıstır. Bu amaçla Egitim Fakülteleri’nin biyoloji ögretim programları saglanarak, programlarda bulunan alan dersleri, seçmeli alan dersleri, laboratuvar dersleri, ögretmenlik meslek dersleri, seçmeli ögretmenlik meslek dersleri ve genel kültür dersleri, ders isimleri, ders sayısı, haftalık toplam ders saati, toplam kredi ve derslerin dönemlerine ait bilgiler açısından karsılastırılmıs ve sonuçta ögretmenlik meslek dersleri dısında fakültelerin ögretim programlarında farklılıkların bulundugu görülmüstür.

ABSTRACT
Teachers are one of the most important elements in the teaching-learning process. A well-educated teacher refers to one who has a good education in his subject area, general culture and teaching. In Turkey, eleven universities have biology teacher training programs. It is thought that these programs should have a certain unique standard, and that such a common standard is significant for integrating into the EU educational system. Thus, the aim of this study is to compare and contrast the curricula of these programs, and the data gained is expected to improve the development of curricula. The comparison includes the following points: courses on subject area, elective subject area courses, lab courses, courses on teacher training, elective courses on teacher training, general culture courses, the titles of the courses, the number of courses, the number of total class hours in week, the number of total credits, placement of courses in semesters. The findings of the study indicate that there are variations across programs except for the courses on teacher training.
