ADAPTATION OF THE BEERY-BUKTENICA DEVELOPMENTAL TEST OF VISUAL-MOTOR INTEGRATION TO SIX YEARS (60-72 MONTHS) OLD TURKISH CHILDREN

ÖZET
Bu araştırma Beery-Buktenica tarafından geliştirilen Beery-Buktenica Gelişimsel Görsel-Motor Koordinasyon Testinin (GMK-5) (Beery & Beery 2004) altı yaş (60-62 ay) Türk çocuklarına uyarlanması amacıyla planlanmıştır. Beery-Buktenica Görsel-Motor Koordinasyon Testinin uygulama yönergelerinin Türkçe’ye uyarlaması yapılarak uzman görüşleri doğrultusunda kapsam geçerliği incelenmiştir. Uzman görüşleri doğrultusunda düzenlenen test 206 çocuğa uygulanmış testin alt boyutları arasındaki korelasyona bakılmıştır. Tüm alt boyutlar arasındaki korelasyonun anlamlı olduğu (p<.01), iç tutarlılığa ilişkin güvenirlik katsayısının .67-79 arasında değiştiği görülmüştür. Yapılan test-tekrar test korelasyonu sonucunda testin zamana bağlı tutarlı sonuçlar verdiği saptanmıştır (r.72-.84). Beery-Buktenica Gelişimsel Görsel-Motor Koordinasyon Testi(GMK-5) ile benzer ölçek geçerliği ile ilgili olarak uygulanan Frostig Görsel Algılama Testinden elde edilen sonuçlar tutarlı bulunmuştur (p<.05). Testin ölçüt geçerliği çalışmalarında öğretmen değerlendirmeleri esas alınmış ve Beery-Buktenica Gelişimsel Görsel-Motor Koordinasyon gelişimleri yaşıtlarından zayıf ve iyi olan çocukların öğretmenler tarafından da zayıf ve iyi olarak değerlendirildikleri saptanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda Beery-Buktenica (GMK-5th) Testinin altı yaş (60- 72 ay) Türk çocukları için geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğu belirlenmiştir

ABSTRACT
This study was planned to adapt the Beery-Bıkutenica Developmental Test of Visual-Motor Integration(VMI-5th) (Beery & Beery 2004)for Turkish children with six ages (60-72 month), whose original was developed by Beery-Buktenica. The instruction of test was translated into Turkish and the content validation was examined in line with the opınion of specialists. The form which finalized in line with the opinions of specialists was applied to 206 children and the correlation between subtest of inventory were examined. It was determined that the correlation between all test were meaningful (p<.01). Internal consistency reliability coefficients were calculated and retest correlation, it was determined between .67-.79. As a result of test-retest correlation, it was determined that the test provided consistent results over time (r .72-.84). The outputs obtained from the Frostig Visual Perception Test which was applied due to similar scale validity with Beery-Buktenica VMI(-5th) were determined as consistent (p<.05). For the criteria validity of the test, teacher assesstments were taken as the basis and it was determined that those children whose visual-motor integration development was poor and good than peers according to the Beery-Buktenica (VMI-5th), was also poor and good according to the teachers. In line with the findings, it has been determined that the Beery-Buktenica (VMI-5th) constitued a valid and reliable measuring tool for six years old ( 60-72 month) Turkish children.
