TEACHERS' PERSPECTIVES ABOUT THE USE OF COMPUTERS IN EDUCATION

ÖZET
Bu çalışmanın amacı Türkiye'deki ögretmenlerin bilgisayarları nasıl kullandıklarını ve ögretirnde bilgisayar kullanımını nasıl algıladıklarını onaya koymaktır. Araştırma için veriler, çeşitli konularda 95 soru içeren bir anket aracılIgı ile toplanmıştır. Araştırmaya Türkiye'nin üç şehrinden rasgele seçilen 27 okulda çalışan 202 ögretmen katılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulgulara göre ögretmenlerin büyük çogunlugu bilgisayarların ögrenme ve ögretim sürecini olumlu etkileyecegini belinirken çok azı bu konuda kaygı taşımaktadır.

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to find out how the teachers use computers in education -if any- and how they perceive the use of computers in education in Turkey. The data for this study were collected through 95- item survey that inquired about a wide range of issues among 202 teachers in 27 randomly selected schools in three Turkish cities. The survey results indicated that most of the subjects held the view that the use of computertechnology in,schools is beneficia! forteaching-leaming process and only few of them indicated some concems about using computers in teaching.
