ÖZET
Ö ğ renci ba ş ar ı s ı n ı artt ı ran en önemli faktörlerden birisi etkili ö ğ retimdir. Bu nedenle bu çal ı ş mada, ilkö ğ retim matematik ve s ı n ı f ö ğ retmenleri taraf ı ndan matemati ğ in ö ğ rencilere nas ı l ö ğ retildi ğ i belirlenmeye çal ı ş ı lm ı ş t ı r. Bunun için Dede (2006) taraf ı ndan geli ş tirilen ve ara ş t ı rmac ı taraf ı ndan ö ğ retmenlere uyarlanan Likert tipindeki bir ölçekten yararlan ı lm ı ş t ı r. Ölçek, tart ı ş ma ve ara ş t ı rmaya dayal ı ö ğ retim, ileti ş ime dayal ı ö ğ retim, çe ş itli materyal ve kaynak kullan ı m ı na dayal ı ö ğ retim ve problem çözmede kullan ı lan yöntem ve materyaller alt fa ktörlerini içermektedir. Ölçek, 2005- 2006 e ğ itim-ö ğ retim y ı l ı I. yar ı y ı l ı nda Sivas il merkezindeki 8 ilkö ğ retim okulunda görev yapan 54 s ı n ı f ö ğ retmeni ve 25 ilkö ğ retim okulunda görev yapan 46 matematik ö ğ retmeni olmak üzere toplam 100 ö ğ retmene uygulanm ı ş t ı r. Sonuçlar, ölçe ğ in tamam ı için ö ğ retmenlerin puanlar ı n ı n aritmetik ortalamalar ı aras ı nda istatistiksel olarak anlaml ı bir farkl ı l ı k olmad ı ğ ı n ı göstermi ş tir.

ABSTRACT
Effective teaching is one of the most important factors to improve student achievemen t. Therefore in this study we attempted to examine how to teach mathematics to students by primary mathematics teachers and elementary teachers. For this purpose, we used a Likert-type sc ale which was developed by Dede (2006) and adapted to teachers by researcher. It contained sub-factors items measuri ng teaching that are based on discussi on and inquiry, communication, various instructional materials and sources, and using methods and materials for problem solving. During the fall semester in 2005- 2006, the scale was applied to 100 teachers who studied 54 elementary teachers at 8 primary schools and 46 primary mathematics teachers at 25 primary schools in Sivas. Results showed that there was no statistical difference between the means for elementary and primary mathematics teachers for entire scale.
