THE VIEWS OF TOURISM STUDYING STUDENTS ABOUT BENEFITS PROVIDED BY TOURISM

ÖZET
Turizm, mü ş teri memnuniyetini temel alan, memnuniyeti sa ğ lamada ve hizmet etmede ş artlar ı n zorland ığı , bir hizmet sektörüdür. Turizmde hizmeti alan da veren de merkezdedir. Üstün ve kusursuz bir hizmet esas ı na dayanmas ı , farkl ı kültür ve milletlere hitap etmesi, a ğı r çal ış ma ko ş ullar ı , güler yüz ve ho ş görü temelli olmas ı gibi nedenlerden ötürü turizm mesle ğ i büyük bir özveri ve fedakarl ı k istemektedir. Turizm sektöründe çal ış anlar da bu fedakarl ı k ve özveriyi ancak mesleklerini faydal ı gördükleri takdirde ve sevmeleri ko ş ulu ile yapacaklar ı bir gerçektir. Bu ara ştı rma, Diyarbak ı r, Mardin ve Ankara illerinde ortaö ğ retim ve önlisans düzeyinde turizm e ğ itimi alan 388 öğ rencinin turizm mesle ğ inin sa ğ layaca ğı faydalara ili ş kin görü ş lerini tespit etmek amac ı yla yap ı lm ıştı r. Cinsiyet de ğiş kenine göre tüm boyutlar aç ısı ndan gruplar aras ı nda fark görülmemekle birlikte erkeklerin görü ş lerinin kad ı nlar ı nkinden daha olumlu oldu ğ u saptanm ıştı r. Ö ğ rencilerin turizmin faydalar ı na ili ş kin boyutlara yönelik görü ş leri e ğ itim durumuna göre farkl ılı k göstermektedir. Ö ğ rencilerin turizmin faydalar ı na ili ş kin görü ş leri okuduklar ı illere göre sosyal ve fiziksel boyutta farkl ılı k göstermekte; ancak ekonomik boyutta fark göstermemektedir. Ö ğ rencilerin turizmin faydalar ı na ili ş kin görü ş leri ya ş ad ı klar ı illere göre ekonomik, sosyal ve fiziksel boyutta farkl ılı k göstermektedir. Ö ğ rencilerin turizmin faydalar ı na ili ş kin görü ş leri turizm sektöründe çal ış ma durumlar ı na göre ekonomik ve sosyal boyutlarda farkl ılı k göstermekte; ancak fiziksel boyutta fark göstermemekle birlikte, tüm boyutlarda turizm sektöründe çal ış mam ış ö ğ rencilerin, turizm sektöründe çal ışmış öğ rencilerin görü ş lerine göre daha olumludur

ABSTRACT
Tourism is a service sector based on customer satisfaction and is searching conditions for providing satisfaction and quality of service. In tourism, the provider and the receiver of service are in the focus. The profession of tourism requires a dedication and sacrifice because it is stands over a superior and perfect base and dealing with different cultures and nations and has a heavy work conditions and smiling faces and tolerance. The staff in tourism sector can show this dedication and sacrifice just only in the case when they see their professions useful and so that they love it. This study was conducted with a purpose of determining the recognitions of the stundents who are receiving tourism education in the secondary and undergraduate education in the cities of Diyarbak ı r, Mardin and Ankara towards the benefits provided by tourism’s profession. It was seen that the views of men were more positive than those of women with no difference was seen between the groups in terms of all dimensions according factor of sex. According to the cities where they are receiving education, the views of students about benefits of tourism showed differences in terms of social and physical dimensions but didnot show difference in economic dimension. According to the cities where they are living, the views of students about benefits of tourism showed differences in terms of social, physical and economic dimensions. A difference was seen in terms of social and economic dimensions in the views of students about benefits of tourism according to their working experience in tourism sector but with no difference was seen in terms of physical dimension, the views of students who worked before in tourism sector is more positive than those who never worked in tourism in terms of all dimensions.
