TEACHERS’ STAGES AT THE INNOVATION-DECISION PROCESS RELATED TO THE USE OF COMPUTERS: CHANGES IN TWO YEARS

ÖZET
Bu boylamsal çal›şman›n amac›, öğretmenle- rin bilgisayar› kullanmaya ilişkin karar sürecinde bulunduklar› aşamalarda (bilgi-ikna-karar-uygulama-onay) iki y›l içinde bir değişim olup olmad›ğ›n› incelemektir. Ve- riler, 2000 y›l›nda gerçekleştirilen araşt›rman›n yürütüldü- ğü ayn› üç okuldaki 31 öğretmenle 2002 y›l›nda görüşme yap›larak elde edilmiştir. Araşt›rman›n sonuçlar› aşağ›daki gibi s›ralanabilir: 1) İki y›l içinde öğretmenlerin bilgisayar kullanmaya ilişkin karar sürecinde bulunduklar› aşamalar- da genel olarak olumlu yönde bir değişim görülmüştür. 2) Bu değişimde öğretmenlerin çal›şt›klar› oku- l önemli bir unsurdur. 3) Öğretmenler, yönetsel işlerde uy- gulama ve onay aşamas›ndad›rlar. 4) Öğretimle ilgili işler- de öğretmenlerin çoğu bilgi aşamas›ndan ikna aşamas›na geçmiştir. 5) Öğretmenlerin çok az› bilgisayar›n öğretimsel amaçl› kullan›m›nda uygulama aşamas›ndad›r.

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this longitudinal study was to investigate the differences between the teachers’ stages (knowledge, persuasion,decision, implementation, confirmation) at the innovation-decision process in two ye- ars. The data were collected by interviewing the 31 teac- hers form the same three schools in which the 2000 rese- arch was conducted. The main conclusions reached by this research were: 1) There was a positive improvement with respect to the stages in two years. 2) The school was an im- portant factor in this change. 3) The teachers were at the implementation and confirmation stage for the manage- ment duties.4) Most of the teachers reached to persuasion stage for the instuctional duties. 5) A few teachers were at the implementation stage for the instructional usage of computers.
