ÖZET
Fen bilgisi dersi; öğrencide bilimsel düşünmebecerisini geliştirmede etkili olan dersler arasında yer almaktadır. Bu dersin öğretimi sırasında laboratuvar çalışmalarının bulunması, dersin amaçlarına ulaşmasında gerekli görülmektedir. Laboratuvar çalışmaları ise içerebileceği çeşitli tehlikeler açısından dikkatle planlanması, düzenlenmesi gereken uygulamalardır. Öğretim sürecinde, fen bilgisi öğretmeni laboratuvarda çeşitli deneyIeri gerçekleştirirken, gerekli önlemleri bilmek ve almak durumunda kalmalıdır. Öğretmenler; bu bilgi ve becerileri hizmet öncesi eğitimleri sırasında ya da hizmet içi eğitimle almalıdırJar. Ancak ülkemizde öğretmen eğitimi sırasında, henüz bu konuda ayrı bir eğitim verilmemektedir. Bu yazının amacı, fen öğretimi sırasında dikkate alınması gereken konuları tartışmak ve öğretmenler için bir kontrollistesi önermektir. Ayrıca, etkili ve güvenli fen öğretimiyle ilgili bazı öneriler de yazının sonunda verilmektedir.

ABSTRACT
Science education is one of the effective courses that develops students' scientific thinking skills. Using laboratory studies in science instruction is importantfor reaching the aims of science. Laboratory work must be planned and organized carefully because of the danger it may cause. During science teaching, science tcacher must know and use the possible ways of preventing danger while students are working on thcir experiments. Teachers must gain these knowledge and skills during ıheir preservice or inservice education. However, in our country this education is stili not adequate during prcservice teacher training. The aim of this paper is to discuss the topics that should be taken into attention while sciencc instructionand to suggest a checklist for teachcrs. Also some suggestions for effective and safe science insıruction is givcn at ıhe end of the paper.
