ÖZET
Vizyon, 21. Yüzyılın öwenen merkezli üniversiteleri için Universite yöneticilerinin liderlik özelliklerinde önemli bir boyuttur. Bu önemli boyut, kişisel ve örJ!;ütsel vizyon J!;eliştirmeden oluşan iki aşamalı bir süreci ifade eder. Varolan üniversite yöneticilerinin vizyonlarının kapsamına ilişkin bilJ!;imiz yetersizdir. Bu çalışmada, kişisel ve örJ!;ütsel vizyon J!;eliştirme aşamaları J!;erçekleştirilmiştir. Veriler Türk Üniversitelerinde J!;örev yapan 449 dekandan toplanmıştır. Dekanıarın varolan ve J!;eliştirmek istedikleri yeterliklerine, liderlik biçemlerine, mesleki de~erlerine fakültelerine, fakültelerinin J!;üçlü ve zayıf yönlerine, iklimine ve ideallerindeki fakültelere ilişkin dei!erlendirmeleri belirlenmiştir. Dekanıarın örJ!;ütsel vizyonlan. kişisel vizyonlanyla tutarlıdır. Gelece~in fakülteleri için J!;eliştirilen vizyonlar açık ve aydınlıktır. Vizyonlarıyla dekanıar, 21. yüz yılın ö~enen merkezli üniversitelerini oluşturmak için oldukça önemli bir potansiyele sahiptir.

ABSTRACT
Vision is an important dimension in leadership characteristics of university administrators for the leamer-centered university of the 21st century. This important dimension expresses a two-phased process, the development of personal and orJ!;anizationalvisions. Our knowledJ!;e about the extent of university administrator's vision at present is insuffident. in this study, the personal and orJ!;anizational phases of the vision development process was performed. The data were collected from 449 deans in Turkish universities.The evaluations of the deans about their proficiencies, self-development field s, leadership styles, professional values and faculties were determined. The evaluations of the deans about the strenJ!;ths,weaknesses, climate and the faculties in their ideals were also determined. The orJ!;anizationalvisions of the deans are consistent with their own personal visions. Therefore, the developed visions for the faculties of the future are elear and liJ!;ht.The deans with visions have a very important potential to sustain the leamer-centered universities of the 21st century.
